Halloween is in the air

It turns out North America exports more than Hollywood, and McDonalds, it also exports holidays. Although the Trick or Treating traditions of Halloween have not been adopted by Hong Kong kids, HK 20-somethings have embraced the annual excuse to party in costume. In the spirit of cultural exchange my roomies and I hosted our first flat party, the “Halloween Howl.” It was truly great to see the many interns and locals, most of whom had never celebrated Halloween before, get dressed up and dance to a colourful mix of 80s-early 90s English, Spanish and Italian music compiled by Rio. Nadya, Martha, Lumi and I dressed up as “Hilton’s Angels” : ) The whole thing was a blast!!

Here are some pics, but Blogger is not working quite right right now, so these are definitely not the best ones.

Ghostly reminder
I got to make use of the costume again on the actual Halloween day when my boss and I hosted a Halloween carnival at the office. We had carnival games and prizes, a costume contest, full out decorations and Pizza Hut take-away it was a blast… I now know what games I will set-up if I am ever involved with the Halloween United Way fundraiser in the trailer again.
Pics to come, when this website is working properly.
