Birthday Celebrations
This last week has been a time of birthday celebrations! It started on Friday, January 26 with a marathon karaoke session! I can actually see why this thing is such a craze in Asia now. About 15 interns met in one of these karaoke boxes, where we had dinner and sang a vast array of songs. The highlights:
- Summer Loving – guys versus girls
- Bohemian Rhapsody – AIESEC style – standing and sitting
- A little Alannis Morisette to finish the night at 4:30 am
On Saturday, after our weekly breakfast, I went to see a company play where my boss played Cinderella, pretty fun. That night the intern’s favourite local guide, Mani, came over to the flat and we made sushi and Japanese pancakes together. It was great!
The festivities continued with Hilton’s b-day on Tuesday. We started the day off by surprising him right at midnight with a ice cream cake and a little game of living room soccer (or football as he woud say). He has been missing football all year, so he finally got a game. It was a great ending to his stint in the MC Flat… though he is not moving far, so I am sure he will be back : )
